Professor Jane Burns

Acting CEO – Well and Productive CRC

Enterprise Professor Jane Burns is a global leader in mental health, wellbeing, and suicide prevention, with over 20 years of C-suite experience across the NGO, government, industry, and academic sectors. She is a pioneer in youth mental health, digital innovation, workforce wellbeing, and co-design strategies, integrating the voices of individuals with lived experience into strategic planning, program implementation and policy. 

Jane has held transformative leadership roles at beyondbluethe Inspire Foundation, the Young and Well Cooperative Research CentreSafer Care Victoria, and as a consultant and Acting CEO leading the Well and Productive CRC. Her governance experience includes serving as Chair of Open Arms – Veterans and Families Counselling Service and STREAT and on the Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency. 

An international keynote speaker and prolific author, Jane has published over 100 papers and policy reports. Her achievements include the Australian Financial Review Social Enterprise Award, recognition among the Westpac Group’s 100 Women of Influence for her work in youth suicide and as a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards. 

As Chair of the Night Time Industries Association, a strategic advisor to the International Well Building Institute and Humn and a Non-Executive Director of the Applied Positive Psychology Learning Institute, Jane continues to drive initiatives that empower communities and organizations. Her personal experiences as a mother of three, including her son Angus, who lives with Down syndrome and Autism, inspire her lifelong commitment to inclusivity and compassionate care.
